Die Universität Hamburg verfügt über eine Campus-Lizenz von Sophos Intercept X als Bedrohungsschutz. Damit wird allen Angehörigen der Universität die Nutzung dieses Bedrohungsschutzes ermöglicht. Die Nutzung ist auf Dienstgeräte beschränkt. Ein Nutzung auf privaten Geräten ist nicht mehr zulässig.
Sophos Intercept X befindet sich zur Zeit noch in der Testphase und wird erst mit der Freigabe durch das Präsidium der UHH in den produktiven Betrieb über gehen.
Umstellung der bisherigen Installation auf Dienstgeräten am Fachbereich Physik erfolgt folgendermaßen
- Rechner, die per OPSI Installiert wurden sollten automatisch das neue Sophos Intercept X erhalten
- auf anderen Dienstgeräten muss Sophos Intercept X vom Benutzer installiert werden. Eine vorherige Deinstallation des alten Sophos ist oft nicht erforderlich. Die Installer dafür erhalten Sie über folgenden Link

Für die Nutzung auf privaten Geräten, und auch nur dort, bietet Sophos die Version "Sophos Home Premium" im Rahmen des Vertrages mit der UHH an. Die Nutzung von "Sophos Home Premium" auf Dienstgeräten ist untersagt.
Bitte beachten Sie, dass es keinen Support für Sophos Home Premium seitens des PHYSnet-RZ nis des RRZ gibt.
Ist noch das Vorgängerprodukt "Sophos Endpoint Security and Control" auf einem Privatgerät installiert, so muss dieses bis zum 20.07.2023 deinstalliert werden. Das PHYSnet-RZ kann ihnen hierfür ein entsprechendes Tool zur Verfügung stellen.
The University of Hamburg has a campus license of Sophos Intercept X as threat protection. This enables all members of the university to use this threat protection. Use is restricted to computers supplied by the UHH/Physics Department. Use on personal devices is no longer permitted.
Sophos Intercept X is currently still in the test phase and will not go live until it has been approved by the UHH Executive Board.
The changeover from the previous installation on computers at the physics department will take place as follows
- Computers installed via OPSI should automatically receive the new Sophos Intercept X.
- on other computers Sophos Intercept X has to be installed by the user. Uninstalling the old Sophos beforehand is often not necessary. The installers for this can be obtained from the following link

For use on private devices, and only there, Sophos offers the "Sophos Home Premium" version as part of the contract with UHH. The use of "Sophos Home Premium" on computers supplied by the UHH/Physics Department is prohibited.
Please note that there is no support for Sophos Home Premium from the PHYSnet-RZ nor of the RRZ.
If the predecessor product "Sophos Endpoint Security and Control" is still installed on a private device, it must be uninstalled by 20.07.2023. The PHYSnet-RZ can provide you with an appropriate tool for this purpose.
